St. Christopher's International School, based in Karen, Nairobi, went solar years ago as part of its sustainability practices and to counter rising electricity costs in Kenya.

In Phase 1, the school faced frequent grid instability and chose a hybrid system to power daytime operations and boarding facilities overnight. As the school expanded and the grid stabilised, the original system could no longer meet full energy requirements, driving up operational costs.

In Phase 2, the original system was converted to grid-tied and paired with an additional 100 kWp of capacity, bringing the total to 150 kWp. This now meets around 90% of the school's energy needs, significantly offsetting operational costs.
